"Racing just seemed a natural thing to do because I had been riding on the farm all my life. We went to the local dirt track & I thought, 'I could do that'. Plus they were going a lot faster than I could on the farm so I joined up and loved it right from the start." "Then to road racing when MRRDA & Honda had a promo day in September 2007. It was a trial day and the officials were getting worried because I was going pretty quick," explained Josh who now wants to follow his fellow Australians, Troy Bayliss (also from Taree) & Chris Vermeulen to road racing success. When not racing as a Rookie he loves to; "Play guitar, love all watersports, particularly the beach and water-skiing, have tried snowboarding in New Zealand and enjoy hanging out in the shed working on my bike and being with my mates, building tracks on our farm to ride my bikes." His practical nature ensures that at school he is happiest doing woodwork. "From back home, Phillip island and Eastern Creek are my favourites, both have fast corners. I know I've got to improve my starts and generally all round my riding. normally at home I qualify OK so I hope that is the same here."
"I keep fit by doing a lot of off-road riding at home, I mainly ride enduros on CRF150 and CRF 250 4 strokes plus a bit of motocross and I also do a bit of jogging. I will do whatever I need to so that I can do well, I want to go Grand Prix racing. I follow Nicolas Terol in 125 and Chris Vermeulen in MotoGP."
