I was happy after qualifying as I qualified 13th even after some issues with my bike!
Race 1 my start wasn't too god but made that up in the first corners, then someone crashed in front of me! I had a narrow escape and just missed him! It was a full on front break action and felt like a stop-and-go resulting in a 2,5 second gap to front group in the first lap!... My race was a lonely one, I was all by myself, managed to stay consistent on the lap times and finished an amazing P9!!
Race 2 my start again was bad and during the action of the first corner I got pushed off track, fought back and came in a group with 2 other riders! After a nice fight finished p10!! Twice top 10 in my home grand prix was amazing!!
What made Assen different to other races?
I had more friends around, more people coming up for a chat.
Bart Tuinman - he is from NOS Jeugdjournaal, a TV program for kids
My mum and sister where there as their first race of this season.
But the most different was the press attention. Newspapers, TV, photographers, it was a busy weekend!
I went home tired but happy but straight away with a focus on this weekend Sachsenring!!
See you there,
