Finally we had the first race of the season. It was already a month since the preseason test in Alcañiz and I was looking forward to getting back on the bike.
It's very exciting to live the atmosphere of the World Championship at a circuit like Jerez.
Thursday afternoon we arrived at the circuit and walked around the track.
On Friday we did both free practice and the qualy. The FP1 was with rain, I had very good feelings with the bike and I was able to finish in the 2nd position. The FP2 was already dry, in the last third of the training I lost the front wheel in the 2nd corner and a fall, luckily without consequences. In the afternoon in the qualy I didn't get past the 17th position.
In the first race on Saturday, in the last lap they gave a red flag for a fallen rider and I finished in 11th place. The bike was very good and I felt very comfortable and also managed to record the 9th best time.
Sunday was the 2nd race. I moved on the grid and was penalised with a ride through, when I was in the 13th position I had to go through the pit lane and in the end I had to settle for the 17th position.
Overall I'm very happy about how the weekend has gone. I keep everything positive and I know I have to keep improving and I have to learn from the mistakes so that I do not commit them again.
I want to thank the whole staff of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup for their professionalism during these days as they do not stop working and helping us to make everything go well. Especially Nico, my mechanic. To Santi for having my suspensions more and more to the point and to Dani Ribalta that with his advice makes everything easier.
But now I'm thinking about the next race that will be on the Assen Circuit, "The Cathedral of the Speed". A circuit where I have never been and I am very excited to go.
Greetings to all !!!!!
