The home race in Assen was overwhelming for me, a lot off media attention. No less than 160.000 motor sport fans were attracted to the event. A place on the podium was unattainable for me this weekend, this was very disappointing.
I would have loved to show my fans and sponsors that I am capable of competing with the top, luck is however an important aspect of racing, and so is bad luck.
The Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup crew was top as usual; they always put in their maximum effort to let the racing weekends run smoothly. That's why I want to thank them again for their efforts.
The next race is in Sachsen Germany. On our way to the Sachsenring with our van we make first a stop in Magdeburg, the Rookies are invited at the Schuberth helmet factory, for an extensive guided tour of the factory. Schuberth supplies the Red Bull Rookies with their helmets. I am happy with my Schuberth helmets, they are comfortable and fit me really well. On top of that I find them aerodynamic and quiet. It is a real lightweight racing helmet.
After the over-night stay at Schuberth in Magdeburg we will continue to the Sachsenring. New game, new chances. It is a wonderful track that's really technical bend and turn-wise, and perfect for setting a good lap time.
I am going to do my very best, and I am looking forward to it.
