I hope you enjoyed the close racing, I know I did.
My first race weekend in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup was an incredible learning curve. I have to say I loved every minute of it. I'm so thankful to be in this position and to have this opportunity.
Throughout the weekend I just wanted to build on what was a good test. With small adjustments to the track layout the times weren't as fast. However from FP1 to my final race, I improved my lap time each session to a point where it was faster than my best lap in the test, which I'm super pleased about.
From P15 and P16 on the grid I made two solids point scoring positions with a 11th and 13th. The results weren't ideal however I completed all 34 laps without any track limit violations which is great for understanding the KTM and how it handles after a long race.
In both races I was able to be in the leading group, however the race craft from all the riders was different to what I have ever experienced. But I now can analyse what they were doing and hopefully improve next weekend at the second set of races in Austria.
In between these meeting, I will have a COVID test and make sure I am in good shape for races 3 and 4 of the 2020 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.
I'd just like to say thank you again to everyone that has made this possible.
That's it from me.
See you on track this Friday!!
