Blog | Max Cook racing two KTMs this season

Max Cook

Hi everyone,

In April I had my first round in Junior World Championship and a great first test in Jerez for the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup!

To start off April I went to Barcelona for 4 days to do some training and make sure I was 100% fit for the season. We did some cycling, gym and went hiking.

Then I went to Jerez for the Red Bull Rookies test. It felt great to be back on my KTM because I didn't ride it since September in Aragon.

It took me a few sessions to get used to it but I improved my lap times every session and was consistently inside the top 10. I went over 1 second faster than last year so I'm really happy I am improving and I can't wait for the first race!

Then straight after I went to Estoril for the first round of the Junior World Championship. This year I'm riding a Honda and KTM and I'm getting a lot more comfortable changing between the 2 bikes.

I finished in 13th place for my first race on a new bike with new team at a new track and I'm really happy with a solid result to start my season.

Since then I have been training and studying for my exams in May which has been difficult to fit it all in but I'm managing it well so far.

See you in Jerez,
