The fifth event this season was in Brno.
Race 1: Once the lights went off, going from tenth I could not get as good a start as I would have liked because the weather conditions were not with us in the rain, but despite this and having started with wet tires, at the end of the first lap I was seventh, with the leaders of the second group.
As the race has progressed, Joan Mir and I were catching the first group to fight for fifth place, and once we got with them we stayed throughout the race in this position. However, with a lap to go, the more experienced Mir got ahead of me and thus at the line I was sixth, just a few tenths off the Mallorcan rider. I am very happy for this great race.
Sunday's second race at Brno was done and the truth is that we were very pleased with the great work. Starting again back in tenth place, I would have liked in the first corner to overtake many of the riders to avoid the rest of the race uncomfortably stuck in the pack and get more distance from them. I managed to put myself in the first group of eight and slowly gain positions.
Halfway through the race I had already placed a little further back and could be cut each time. Thus, with eight laps to go I was third but it was all very difficult to keep myself there. Unfortunately I was pushed down to eighth place but yes, with three laps to the flag fall and I could attack again, to step by step to fifth.
I got to the finish line fifth by making fastest lap at 2m 11.706 seconds, beating last year's time by J.Roberts who had 2m 12.413 so I took the new lap record.
Happy for this great weekend of work, now I'm ready for the next stop in two weeks, on 30 and 31 August at Silverstone, Great Britain.
Thanks for your support and a big greeting to all, gasssss !!
