My name is Luca # 58 and I started going mini-bikes in late 2011 with a Chinese minibike that my dad rented on the track near home, in Torricola, with which I practiced for a month, before 'Santa Claus' gave me my first Italian minibike, a beautiful Polini GP3!!!
In the early years (2013-2013) I competed in the first Regional Trophies, on the circuit near Rome, in Campo di Carne and in Torricola (TT Racing), winning the second in 2013.
In 2014 I started racing in the Italian Minimoto Championship (CIV Junior) with a Polini minibike, winning the last race on the calendar in Ortona and in 2015 I won both the Italian and the European Minimoto Championship with a Phantom minibike, by winning a loto of races. In that year I also won the prestigious 'Marco Simoncelli' Minimoto Trophy, a trophy in honor of my true idol Marco Simoncelli, the one I am inspired by and of which I carry his number '58' on the hulls of my bikes.
In 2016 I abandoned the low wheels to switch to the high 12'' ones with a real bike, with the gear change, and I competed in the PreMiniGP Italian Championship, a category in which the bikes were all the same (Metrakit 50 with 10 hp) and drew lots at each race, where I obtained, out of 6 races, 4 wins and a second place, winning the Championship one race in advance.
In 2017 was the first of two years in the MiniGP Italian Championship, where I raced with a GRC bike (50cc and 15-16 hp), obtaining a ninth final place, making important experience for the 2018, the year in which with a new bike, a RMU and with my current Team (AC Racing Team), I won both the Italian and the European MiniGP Championship, winning many races and obtaining all pole-positions.
Since 2018 I have been part of the 'Pata Talenti Azzurri FMI' Project, a project of the Italian Motorcycle Federation aimed at young promises of Italian motorcycling that includes training and collegiate at the Federal Technical Center of Misano, with both theoretical and practical lessons on sports practices motorcycling (speed on track, motocross, flat track and athletic training that includes both athletics exercises and bicycle training).
The most beautiful and exciting year was undoubtedly the 2019, when for the first time I raced in the most important and prestigious racetracks in Italy, at Misano, Mugello, Imola and Vallelunga, with a beautiful PreMoto3 CS-Mahindra (AC Racing Team) and in my first year with the 17'' wheels I got 5 out of 6 poles, winning 6 out of 12, with 8 podiums and many fastest with records of Misano, Imola and Vallelunga tracks.
Such a beautiful season could only end in the best way, I was selected, after three days of testing in Guadix (Spain) from 15th to 17th of October with other 109 riders of 37 States all over the world, to participate with other 10 riders in the most important and prestigious Championship, as well as being highly educational and with a global visibility, the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup 2020, which will take place on 7 of the most beautiful and important Autodromes at European level (Jerez, Le Mans, Mugello, Sachsenring, Finland, Spielberg and Aragon), in conjunction with the MotoGP races, in which I will race alongside the best and most famous drivers in the world.
I can't wait to start this Championship and compete with the best young riders in the World and I am preparing myself so much physically with training in the gym every day and motorbike training, especially with the motard 85 in my home track in Torricola as well as in Aprilia and Campo di Carne and with motard 450 in the circuits of Latina, Ortona and Viterbo.
Finally, in 2020 I will race at CIV Moto3 with a Husqvarna bike of my Team (Ac Racing Team) and on the weekend 21-23 February I tried for the first time with my new Moto3 bike on the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia with good time laps, improving day by day.
Best regards to everyone and see you soon on track for the pre-season tests in Jerez at the mid of April!!!
