Blog | Karel wins the last 2-stroke race at a GP

Karel Hanika

Hey everyone.

The last race in Aragon was fantastic. Friday started well. All sessions were on a wet track and these conditions I don't like very much.

In free practice I learned the track, found the right line and breaking points. I also had a little crash, but it was OK. In the qualifying I had a great feeling, so I could ride fast laps. In the end I rode really very fast and finally the fastest lap. So it was my 4th Pole Position for the season.

On Saturday the conditions were better, but still it was very cold and the grip wasn't great. The start to the race was good. I was 2nd, but then I dropped down to 5th place. I rode there a long part of the race. I also finished there, so it was good points for me.

The 2nd race was much much better. The start was same as in the first race. I also was 2nd and then I had a great fight with Florian. Later also other riders caught up and it was a really big battle. To the last lap I rode on 3rd place. Then out of the corner for the last straight I had it very very good so I passed Lukas and then on brakes also Florian. The lead I helf to the end and I won again!

It was incredible race. I enjoyed it so much. It was the last race of the season and also the last race on 2-stroke machine, so I'm happy that I won it. In championship overall I jumped up to 3rd place, so it's also a great result.

Thanks to all Red Bull Rookies Cup Team, specially to Mr. Auinger who helped me a lot. Also to all my family, friends and everybody else. I'm looking forward to next season in this Cup. See you next year!
