What an awesome weekend of racing! During the summer break I couldn't wait to go and ride at Brno, which is one of my favourite tracks.
In FP1 I tried to learn the track step by step and get a good feeling for the bike... We also had new engines which meant we had to run it in on FP1. I used the time to learn the track as we went faster. I felt some suspension problems and after a quick adjustment, I was ready to attack the track once more.
During FP2 my lap time improved by 4 seconds. I had a very good rhythm and tried to push the limit a little bit more. At last, it was time for Qualifying and I focused on setting consistent lap times. After 25 minutes the timing board showed I qualified in 23rd position.
Race 1 had it's up's and downs due to really funny weather conditions. Eventually we had rain tyres on but the track was completely dry. This was a real challenge for me. After a long battle with Makar Yurchenko, I finished in 21st position.
Race 2 had plenty of sunshine and it was time to replace the wet tyres for slicks. Once again Makar and I had a tremendous battle. Coming into the final laps, my bike had some mechanical problems and a loss of power, which gave Makar an advantage.
I gathered a lot of experience this weekend and will use it wisely for the upcoming races. Thanks to everyone for their messages and support, much appreciated!
See you all soon,
