Blog | David Salvador fast all weekend in Aragón

David Salvador

Hey pals!

Last weekend I had a round of the FIM CEV Repsol with Cuna de Campeones team. It was a really enjoyable weekend because I had three races in one of my favourite circuits, Motorland Aragón.

In the Free Practices the feeling was incredible with my bike and also with the track. I was extremely focused on working the race pace and by the end of the two days I was very happy.

But the Qualifying was quite different. The rain appeared and in the QP1 we went to the track and just two minutes after that the first drops fell down so we had to enter to the box and change the settings. A wrong setting made me crash twice so I could not give my best, because I completed just one lap.

In the QP2 the rain was harder but I was able to get a good pace and I improved my time ending the combined times in a P13. We saved the day and I was ready for the race.

Race 1: P6
Quite happy for my performance in the first race. I was fighting every moment in the front group and lap by lap I was feeling better. It was in the last lap when I got a hit by another rider and because of that I lost some positions ending in P6.

Race 2: P7
The second race was pretty similar the the first. The race developed in the same way, with a group of 8 riders battling in the front. I finished P7 and I got some good points, but the best things were coming!

Race 3: P3!
Finally I reached the podium!

It was a very identical race than the previous but I changed my strategy a little bit because I wanted to be in the front in the last lap. It worked and I overtook four riders in the last lap, two of them in the last corner and just 0,6s from the winner.

We know we still have some things to adjust but we are improving race by race as our rivals do. I'm really proud of my team because we are giving the best that we have and that's the key to success.

Looking forward to see you and the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup team next weekend in Aragon!

Many thanks to my sponsors and my family and thank you for reading me!

See you soon!
