These last two weeks have been intense, in every sense of the word. First of all, I was very happy to go to the Mugello circuit for the second meeting of the Red Bull Rookies Cup.
After finishing 13th in qualifying, I finish the race in 13th place just 1 second and a half from the leader. It was a cautious race and I didn't feel confident to enter the leading group. It's a very competitive category with a high level.
Belgian national television was present all weekend to cover the event and I was even interviewed. 3, 2, 1... Action!
Only three days later, I flew to Barcelona for the Moto3 Junior World Championship. I was more than motivated to make a good performance.
But it was a difficult weekend for me, in every way. I lost my teammate, Andreas Perez, from the Reale Avintia Racing Team who fell during Sunday's race. He was the same age as me and It's hard to realise that I will not be driving with him anymore. I was at his funeral to pay him a last tribute. I send all my support to his family, friends and to my team. RIP Andreas.
Now, I'm going back to training in order to be ready for my next race weekend in Assen for the Red Bull Rookies Cup. I hope that a lot of Belgian fans will come to support me!
See you there!
