Rider bio

"My father was motorcycle rider and I traveled with him to races.

This was amazing for me and I liked it so much. Therefore, when I was two years old my father bought to me a minibike. I was happy for it and I started to training with my best coach (my father) and I started racing in my country.

My brother Michal was also racing, but he broke his leg so he stopped and my small brother Nicolas (3 years old) tried a minibike and he likes it."

"I'm really lucky that I have my parents because they do everything with me, they come to training, races, my mother helps me with school and my father help me with physical training. I would like to say thanks to them!."
"I think that I made really big step in 2015 because I did some good race and in some race my bike betrayed me but I made on every track better time than in 2014, mostly two seconds better. I had some very bad luck but I hope that in 2016 I will have better luck.

He was looking forward to his first Rookies Cup season in 2016: "I would like to gain the best results, I want to gain new experiences and make new friends. I also want to gain lots of experience this year both in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and other championships and step by step go to the MotoGP and fulfil my dream."
He already has many great memories including one shared with another Rookie. "My best race was in Brands Hatch, in the UK. It was the best race because there were many people and very good ambience and for me was very adrenaline track. It was in 2014 Moriwaki Cup and I won twice, in one of them I fought with my longtime friend Kevin Orgis."

"In 2015 my best race was in Albacete. It was the 1st race of this season and I really enjoyed because I was battling for the lead in the first half of the race but then I had problem with my throttle, it was sticking. It pumped a lot adrenaline for me and I wanted to go to the box but I decided to fight and I still finished 4th."
The rookies Cup season takes him to his favourite tracks. "They are Jerez, Brno and Aragon. In Jerez is my favourite corner, named after Jorge Lorenzo, in Brno the corner of Kevin Schwantz."
"In my first Rookies Cup season, 2016, my best races were at the end of the year in Aragon as I was 5th in both."

"My racing hero is mainly Valentino Rossi, but I admire lots of riders like Dani Pedrosa, Maverick Vinales and Nicky Hayden."

"Racing... It's my all life. I race because I want to be the best but for me is very important to have good ambiance in my team and communication with my mechanics. My favourite to do when I don't racing are playing with my friends, riding a bike, playing football, Ice hockey and tennis. My favourite subject in school are maths and PE."

To make the point of how much he sees racing as a team effort that has got him to this stage in his career he concludes; "I would like to thanks so much to all people who helped and help me people of my team, in particular to Boss of the team Thomas Llopis Sala and to my mechanics Alex Rizo Gaso and Javier Galach and mainly to my family because without them I can't to do this sport."
2017 was due to be a great year after a stellar debut season in 2016 but fortune can play a big part. "Last year it was really unlucky for me," explained Filip.

"The beginning of the season went really well because from the first race weekend I went home with 2nd and 4th places."
"In the Junior World Championship Moto3 in Catalunya I had a big crash in qualification from 1st place and I broke my left leg (femur). I had to have an operation and I knew that the battle for the Rookies Cup title was lost."
"One month after operation was my home Grand Prix. I tried to race there but it was too early."

Misano and he was back up to speed - 2017
"After that my first race was in Misano where I finished 4th. The last race weekend in Aragon was good but I made a big mistake. I hope in 2018 I will have more luck than last year and I will do all to fight for the championship!
