Blog | Zonta van den Goorbergh racing all over

Hi Everyone,

It has been a while since I updated you! We have been enjoying the quiet time and spent some time off track but to be honest, a few days would have been long enough as I cant wait to be back on the bike!

The last two racing weekends were Rookies and ETC – I combine the two calendars.

Sachsenring was the most recent Rookies race and it was straight after Assen so we went, after a quick pitstop home, straight through.

I had 2 good races, the second one was the best but nice battles in both races!! P14 in race 1 and p13 in race 2!

Race 2 lost the battle and race one won the battle!! So all in all I left Sachsenring happy and again we went almost straight through to the next event, Aragon for a race with ETC

What a weekend that was!!! I qualified P6 which was really good as normally I qualify around 20th and now 6th!

Race 1, I was in a battle for 5th then was given the longlap penalty because they said we worked to long on the bike on the grid, caught the 2 riders again but then had only 2 laps to attack but couldn't get in front and just missed out on p5 still amazing p7!! First points in the ETC!

Second race also good, I was in the front group until I had contact with another rider in turn one, got pushed really wide, and had a gap to front group... then pushed hard to get back to front group and crashed.... still an amazing weekend with first points and first top 10!!

From Aragon my dad, sister and I took some time to enjoy a short break – but I couldn't wait to get back on the bike! We got home last Monday and am picking up my training again. Can't wait to leave for Spielberg!!

P.S. A big congrats to superstar Tan van Gendt, he won the World Championship BMX two weeks ago. He made a selfy on the grid in Assen with me ;-)
