Blog | Victor Steeman adapting in Jerez

Hi Everyone,

During Jerez pre season test and following races, our main goal seemed to be adapting my riding style for the KTM.

The Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup bike is demanding a different style.

I'm used to keep a high corner speed and round and smooth lines.

Together with our rider coaches and with their tips and tricks, I now use different racing lines for late braking and a better exits.

With our mechanic and suspension specialist we are trying to find a good base setup that suits me.

Summary for test and race on Circuito de Velocidad de Jerez Spain; the pre-season test was a real eyeopener, a new bike / helmet / complete gear and being part of a new team! #redbull

Free practice 1 Jerez race was OK, Free practice 2 and Qualifying was a bit disappointing and resulting in two difficult races.

I am impressed with the professional approach of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Team and the size of MotoGP event Gran Premio Red Bull de Espana on Circuito de Velocidad de Jerez and the many many friendly spectators.

Riding a supermotard on our TT Junior Track Assen gives me the opportunity to train late braking and sliding into corners.

I recently took part in a trackday on TT Circuit Assen with a sponsored premoto3, more than 50 laps exploring lines suited for the KTM.

The new sportscamera came in handy for analysing the laps, thx @GoPro.

Seven weeks and counting... looking forward to the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup races at TT Circuit Assen and race for the second time on my favourite "home" circuit and for the first time races on Sunday!

Thanks @Red Bull and sponsors for a great start of my Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup season #givesyouwings

See you all in Assen!
