Blog | Scott Ogden fast and unlucky not to podium in Valencia 1

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all OK.

Last weekend left me with mixed emotions.

The weather was changeable all weekend and on Friday that showed. FP1 and FP2 were both wet where I recorded 8th and 6th place positions respectively. Qualifying was closer to being a full dry track however still had some wet patches. In the end I finished 9th. Which is my best qualifying to date.

Race 1 on Saturday was similar conditions to qualifying, with many wet patches on circuit. I had a good start and was settled in 8th place. However some crashes took place which promoted me to 4th.

I then pushed hard to try catch the riders ahead. Unfortunately I pushed too hard in the tricky conditions and ended up crashing out.

Race 2 on Sunday was the first proper dry track time we had. Once again I had a solid start getting into 8th however in the 2nd turn I was taken out in a multiple rider pile up.

Unfortunately this left me with a cut to the thigh and an injured right ankle.

I'm doing my best this week to recover for the weekend's races. I feel good and excited to get back on the bike.

See you all on Friday.
