Rory Skinner Jerez

Blog | Rory Skinner standing with greatness and training for fitness

Hi everybody,

I'm really looking forward to the second round of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in Assen this coming weekend. I was gutted I wasn't able to compete in the first round of Rookies Cup at Jerez in April as I had broken my wrist whilst competing in the FIM CEV Repsol Moto3 Junior World Championship the weekend before.

However since then I have been working hard to get back to full fitness.

In May I was honoured to meet motorsport legend Sir Jackie Stewart when I was invited to join representatives from Sport Scotland, Motor Sports Association, and the Scottish Auto Cycle Union where a new partnership was announced to grow the sport of motor racing in Scotland.

A few weeks ago I went to the Knockhill Racing Circuit 'Rewind Festival' which is a festival of bikes from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, mostly 2-strokes. I really enjoyed the opportunity to get out on track on some classic 2-stokes.

This weekend I have been doing some training, riding supermotos with John McPhee (MotoGP Moto3 rider) which was hard work but a lot of fun.

I can't wait to get back on my Rookies Cup KTM Moto3 at Assen this weekend!

See you soon.
