Blog | Raúl Fernández with a great end to the season in Aragon

Hello at all,

So, the season has finished, the first thing to say is thanks for all the great memories and for this special year.

We got to the event in my home country, Spain, with great enthusiasm and satisfaction to run here. It is the last race of the year.

My uncles and my friends came the circuit to see me and that motivated me. From the first free session, I enjoyed and I felt right. I worked hard from the free sessions to arrive in good shape for QF. The bike was well prepared and again I got onto the first row of the grid, third position.

I started well and through the first two laps got myself into first place. I tried to push hard, but the bikes does not allow that we got far ahead and the fight was always in the group.

A pity the fall and the red flag, when the race resumed the race came out well and I had a beautiful fight with my running mates. When we arrived at the last few laps, Skinner had escaped, but I caught him and this is how I got the fastest lap of the circuit, bettering the track record from 2015. But eventually I finished second, I was pleased.

On Sunday I was told that I would stay again next year was in Red Bull Rookies Cup, after that and my second Saturday place I was on a cloud.

Race 2 and Skinner and Simpson escaped but I got to back to them. But in the last few laps, when I was in the podium position, the bike give me a fight. Although I could get my hands on it, I was prevented from getting into another podium position.

I want to say thanks to Gust, Dani, Berta, Jasmin, Peter, Niki and especially Alex, Santi, Francés and my father for this great year as partner and the effort made for me.

At last I want to send a message of encouragement at my friend Aleix Viu #81, get well soon, we have to fight on track.

See you in 2016 Gassssss.

Raul #23.
