Over the past four days I have been in Aragon, Spain for the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup preseason test. It was very nice to see everyone again and meet all of the new riders and mechanics. It was also very nice to get all of the new Alpinestars team wear and kit for this season.
On the first day we had to run-in the bike so we used the short track. After a few sessions the bike was run-in and I could get a good feeling for the KTM Moto3 bike and get quicker and quicker as the day went on. At the end of the day I was happy because I got the bike setup pretty good.
On the second day we were on the big track, which was good because then I could get a true setting for the suspension. The first sessions I used to get used to the track then I used the rest of the sessions to get a good setup for the bike and put a fast lap time in and at the end of the day I was 3rd quickest which I was very happy about.
The third day we had a rest day, it was nice to relax and recharge the batteries. It was also good fun doing some interviews and photo shoots.
Day four we were back on the bike, the condition was a bit windy but it was still a good day. To start off the day we had a race start simulation which was good to practice and then for most of the day I was playing with the setup of the suspension. I set a pretty good lap time and in the very last session on the last lap I had a crash but didn't hurt myself which was good. I ended the test in 6th position, which I was very happy about.
Now we go to Jerez for the first race and I am very confident. I have a good setup on the bike and I have done lots of laps around Jerez recently so I can't wait until the race.
See you at the races,
P.S. That's my dad doing the hard work in the photo
