Blog | Matthias Meggle fighting back from injury for the Red Bull Ring and Brno

Hey everybody,

Here is my blog about the past two race weekends on the Red Bull Ring in Austria and in Brno, Czech Republic.

After my injury from Sachsenring it wasn't even sure if I could ride in Austria, but finally on Thursday I got the OK from the doctor. But I rode with an orthosis to protect my arm. It was great to be back on the bike after 4 weeks without riding any bike because of my broken arm.

I qualified on a very good 13th position but the races didn't go very well.

In the 1st race I finished only 19th and the 2nd race I had to stop because of an electronic defect.

Even so, it was a nice weekend because the atmosphere and the show around the track was amazing.

Between the races in Austria and the Czech Republic I had some days off together with my family.

In Brno my feeling on the bike turned better and better but I made some mistakes in the qualifying and got only 19th.

In the beginning of race 1 I was not in the top 15, but together with another rider I closed the gap to the group in front of us and I finally won the battle for 11th position.

Race 2 began with a bad start but I worked through the field and closed up to a very big group that was fighting for the positions 6 to 15. The last laps were very difficult and I couldn't attack as hard as I wanted, because the grip with the rain tires in the dry was very bad after my catch-up.

But even then I managed to finish on a good 10th position.

Next weekend I already have my next race of the ADAC Nothern Europe Cup in Oschersleben, Germany with the Endurance World Championship.

See you,
