Blog | Kyle's Brands frustration | 2011

Last weekend was the first BSB of 2011 and I went to Brands Hatch. I had been testing there last month and did some good times.

The bike was like a missile and the weather was red hot. I was 1st in both practices Friday and Saturday. Qualifying Saturday it was still red hot and I qualified pole with one more to go Sunday! My fastest lap time was 49.8 seconds I was very happy.

Sunday I was still keeping my times good and the bike was mint, at end of the session I had gone even faster, 49.5 seconds and got my first ever pole for Monday's race!!!

Mum said to say this: The team said someone said I am the youngest ever to qualify pole in a BSB???

Monday's race I was very nervous, my legs were shaking on the grid. I got a good start but the race was red flagged. The race was restarted and I was first into paddock hill and I just got my head down and went. I led the race all along for 16 laps of 19 when a mechanical failure seized the bike and threw me off at druids. Gutted!

Looking forward now to Estoril to get back on a bike and then were flying home Sunday night to race at BSB Oulton Park on Monday.

Thanks every1
