Blog | Kevin Orgis ending a great first season in Aragon

Hi everybody,

That it was for my first season in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup!

The last weekend was the great final in Motorland Aragon and it was a quite difficult one for me. The track was almost new for me but the first two free practices were really good and I was in 8th position.

But in qualifying practice the weather conditions seemed really unclear and my bike had damage on the sprocket and I had to start from position 21.

The first race was a complete disaster because I stalled the bike at the start. So I had to start out of the pit lane but Gonzales crashed at the start and was only some few seconds in front of me. I caught him and we fought till the last corner.

The second race was really good. My start was OK and I tried to fight forward. But when I reached the group with Casadei and Kalinin and it was really difficult to overtake them. But when Rory passed me I could stay with him and we caught up with the group fighting for 4th position.

It was a crazy fight there and I had a really good chance to win this fight but then I had a highsider and I lost really many places. But in the last lap I won some positions again and the 7th position was really good.

It was a great season but I still have to work with me and my bike. I want to say a really big thank you to the whole Red Bull Rookies Cup Team, especially to René, Erwin, Gustl and Dani, who supported me great this year and it's a pleasure for me to be in the Rookies Cup for the next year.

See you,
