Blog | Kaito Toba brings in the New Year with Japanese traditions

Hi there!

A Happy New Year!!

On the first day of the New Year I was praying for everyone happiness and for my victory this season!

In Japan, we eat Japanese Soba (buckwheat noodle) from just before the year changes, from midnight to bring in the the New Year, it is tradition to go to pray for happiness of the new year to God.

This buckwheat noodle called "Toshikoshi-Soba" in Japanese, meaning is buckwheat overtake the year (Wikipedia). The Japanese a prayer to bring in the New Year is the ritual called "Hatsumoude " (Wikipedia).

The 3 days of January 1 to January 3, in Japan will eat "Omochi" (Japanese rice cake - Wikipedia).

One photo is the Japanese rice cake decorated at home and an important part of the New Year in Japan. This is a Japanese "Kagami-Mochi" and God's house "Jinja" in Japan.

It is me that praying for this season of victory. Is it Funny?

Next blog I will write a riding training.

Have fun!
