Last weekend we went to the Dutch TT at Assen, for me it was again a new track and I only knew it because I have been training for it with my PlayStation. On Thursday in the free practise I was 7th and in QF1 9th, which was not too bad, but in the QF2 I couldn't find a perfect lap and I so was 20th on the starting grid.
On Friday I spoke with Rider Coach Gustl Auinger and he told me to believe in myself and so I did.
In the race I managed to get to the leading group very soon as Assen is a circuit with many points to overtake. In lap 8 I was in the 1st position, leading a race of the RBRC for the first time!!!! I never expected that I was going to do that starting from 7th row, but I did it. Then 2 laps before the end Ivo touched me at the entrance of the chicane and I lost all the speed in the main straight, so almost everyone in the group went ahead of me and I finished 10th.
On Saturday I did the same, went as quickly as I could with the front runners, and we had a great battle all race long. Then a few corners to the end in the last lap, being in 3rd position behind Hanika and Alt I made a mistake and went a bit wide, so I only could finish 6th.
When the race finished I realised that there were a lot of people in the grandstands still, watching our race, I hope they had a good time, as I certainly did.
Now I am anxious to go to the Sachsenring in Germany, which seems a completely different track, I hope I will adapt soon to it. ¡¡Don't forget to follow me on Twitter @88jorgemartin, I'm also in FB and on my Website www.jorge88.com !!
