Blog | Jorge fighting some tough luck in Austin

Hi all!

I just came back to Spain from the first two races of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup at COTA, in Austin. It has been a difficult weekend. Austin is a very tricky circuit, which mixes fast and very slow corners, and it was new for all the riders. I struggled with suspension settings as did most of the Rookies on Saturday, but we changed to harder springs and things improved a lot for the second race.

On Saturday, 50 minutes before the first race I fell down on the floor when I stumbled over a cable and injured my right wrist. I went to the hospital and they allowed me to race, but the pain was there still. Not so much on Saturday but it got worse for Sunday's race. It hurt me a lot and I could not accelerate, but I ended up happy with the race because in the first corner when I turned my head I saw only two riders behind me, and after putting my head down and a hard work I managed to finish 6th. So I'm 5th in the championship so far. I hope to do better in Jerez and I will try my best, as always,

My best wishes for the recovery of Yui, get well soon.

See you there,

Jorge88.
