Blog | Jordan leads in Assen | 2013

Hi guys,

Had no internet access this past weekend so I haven't been able to update you on what has been happening. Had a really great weekend in Assen/Holland. The Red Bull Rookies mechanics Juan & Santi did a great job with the bike. Qualifying could have been better, started on wets and the track dried and I was a bit slow in getting into the pits to change to slicks, only had a couple of laps to get a decent lap time. Qualified 13th for the race so I had a lot of work to do.

First race on Friday, got a good start and quickly worked my way up to the leading group, just went for it when ever I could and somehow managed to get into the lead. WOW everyone was running a fast pace, I lost and got back the lead a few times but I couldn't up the pace. Had a great race and ended up 4th in the end, a podium was a good possibility but a yellow flag on the last corner stopped me from overtaking and making a move for 3rd, but that's racing.

Saturdays race, started from 12th and had a real tough battle, could not close the gap to the front guys and ended up 7th. I know I've really got to work on my qualifying as coming from the 3rd row or more on the grid just leaves me too much to do. The racing is so competitive and you need to start the race at the front or close to it as its so hard to catch up and close the gap.

Well all in all it was a really good weekend and Assen is one of the greatest MotoGP circuits, I just love it, go there once and you'll always want to go back.

Thank you all for the support, getting ready now for next BSB MotoStar race at Snetterton this weekend

See you all at Sachsenring!!
