Wednesday was the last day of pre-season testing at Jerez. Track conditions were clear and dry so it gave me the chance to get a real feel of the KTM. It handled so perfectly, I managed to put in some good lap times during the 1st and 2nd practise sessions and to my amazement I found out that I was second fastest after the 2nd session. The 3rd session didn’t go as well as I hoped, I went into a corner a bit too fast, and picked up front end chatter, possibly from the wind which caused me to lose it and down I went.
My bike took a bit of a beating and I wasn’t sure we were going to get it back together in time for the 4th session. My mechanic Juan, my brother and the rest of the team worked really hard to put the bike back together as soon as possible to get me back on track.
I don’t know how but they did it, the bike was all fixed, it was an amazing sight to see and I managed to do the last few minutes of the session. To Juan, my brother Reece, Olly Simpson’s dad Nathan and all the mechanics within the Red Bull Rookies Team, thank you so much for helping me to get back on track. The next time I get to ride my KTM will be in America for the first round of the Rookies Cup, cant wait! Really feel up for it.
See you all in Austin!!
