Hello Everyone,
In early April in Jerez, Spain, the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup official tests took place.
The 2019 season officially started this month! The first day, I received my equipment and I had the chance to discover the motorbike that I will drive in this competition.
Then, photo sessions alone and with my future competitors.
The day after, the riding sessions began. I rode the KTM 250 cm³ number 48 for a first session and seven other 25 minutes long sessions in which I got used to the motorbike and made the first settings.
Same program the next day with several sessions including one of 18 laps like a race. At the end of the day, we got a specific start session.
I felt good with the motorbike, my chief mechanic did everything possible to make me as comfortable as possible on the track.
Later in the week I started with Team Larresport at the Estoril (Portugal) circuit for the CEV. In qualifying session, I finished 25th. I was forced to give up in the first race.
After a fall on the warm-up lap, my clutch lever broke when I came on the starting line for the second race. I have been then evacuated by the mechanics who gave everything to repair the motorbike in a record time! I left the pit lane 50 seconds behind the leader and I finished 27th with good chronos.
I am feeling well with my new team and without these few worries, the results could have been much better. I am more than motivated, I will keep pushing and the results will come!
Now, focus on the first race of the season next May... Full gas!
