I finally did my first race after seven weeks of injury break from riding. I was at the Nürburgring for the IDM and participated for the first time on Friday in free practice. My injured fingers I didn't noticed but felt very much that I had seven weeks away from riding. I was able to go faster and faster through Friday and made a good lap time.
Saturday morning it was dry and there were good weather conditions. In the first qualifying I was able to improve from lap to lap and at the end I was 11th. In the second qualifying I wanted to find myself a fast rider to chase to improve even more, but unfortunately my engine was not running and I could not go out. So I fell back on the grid to 15th.
Sunday morning was beautiful weather and I was to lap 8th fastest. At the start of the race it was dry and warm and I got off badly from the start. In the first corner I held myself back because I did not want to risk a fall, and fell back to the 19th position. I could then step up the pace and make some good moves. In the end I was 12th and was satisfied.
I improved from session to session and was able to reduce the gap to the top guys as the weekend went on.
Until Rookies Cup at Silverstone,
