After few months away from my KTM, the season finally started last week with our official test in Jerez. It will be my second season and I have worked a lot to be more than prepared for the first race.
On the first day, we started the first session by the engine break-in of our bike. So I rode carefully in the first session and I extended in the second to avoid any problems with the engine during the season. After the third session, on new tires, I topped the time sheets until the last session when someone else took the lead. We had some troubles with the front (similar to last season) but we managed to solve them on used tires.
On the second day, my target was to be the fastest in the first session by reaching 1'50 on the timesheet. I managed to do a flying lap in 1'50.9. On the last morning session, even if I was bothered a little, I realized my best lap of the day. In the afternoon, the track temperature was too high.
We kept the morning tires for the first session and we worked on the bike settings to prepare the first race. In the latest session, with new tires, I pushed too hard and I crashed, losing the front. Nonetheless, we improved a lot during that day and it looks promising for the season.
Until my next report, I will finalize my physical preparation to be on top for the first round.
Talk to you later!
