Bo Bendsneyder and Enzo Boulom Aragon

Blog | Enzo Boulom fast in Aragon and Navarra

Hello everyone,

Before the final round in Aragon, I didn't have the opportunity to train on the bike. During the first free practice session, I finished 7th, but I wasn't very motivated since I knew that my Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup adventure would finish on Sunday. I lost a lot time during the qualifying session.

However, for the first race, I told myself to push as hard as I can, even if starting from the 16th place grid is not the best way. I made a good start and I quickly bridged the gap with the leading group. On the second lap, I was just behind Bo Bendsneyder. A place on the podium would have been possible. Unfortunately, a crash occurred in front of us and four riders crashed including Bo and me.

For the second race, I knew I had the pace to follow the right group. I also made a good start but I was bothered and a gap appeared with the leading group. Without slipstreams, it was nearly impossible to bridge that gap.

Oscar Gutierrez, Bo and me, fought during the whole race. Until the final turn before the finish line, I was in front of them. Unfortunately, I lost the front and they passed me. It's a pity for this last race, I really wanted to show my level, maybe to stay another year to confirm my results.

I would like to thank the whole Red Bull MotoGP Rookies staff for these two amazing years. I have learned a lot. Now, I'm starting new challenges.

Two week-ends ago, I was in Navarra for the CEV round with the Ongetta Rivacold Junior Team. For the last time of the season, I rode my Suter Honda bike. Without any basic settings for the technical track, I finished 22nd on the grid. During the warmup, we found the right settings for the frame of the bike. I finished the session with the 7th time.

For the race, we bet the rain would come and we modified our settings to fit these conditions. In the dry, a Top 10 finishing is nearly impossible with this bike compared to the others, but on the wet, it's possible to do it.

Unfortunately, the rain didn't come. I made a good start, I passed Bo, Kaito, Martin Vanharen, to be 14th at the beginning of the race. I was also able to bridge the gap on Rory Skinner, Yuta Date, Adam Norrodin and Lorenzo Petrarca. On the 6th lap, my engine overheated and I had to go out the slipstreams to finish the race. I finished 17th, but again, I showed that I had the pace to be on front the new Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup winner, which is good for me and my mind.

In Jerez and Valencia, I will race with the Ongetta Rivacold Junior again but I will have a more powerful bike, especially in Valencia since I will make a test there before the race. A very big thank you to this team that supports me in CEV this season.

See you !
