Last weekend I had the opportunity of visiting Misano Circuit within the MotoGP World Championship.
It was a great experience as I could know the Misano track for my very first time. Racing in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup allows me to meet many GP tracks around Europe and it may become a very important aspect if I want to get promoted to the next level.
In the FP1 I wasn't as comfortable as I wanted and we focused on preparing the bike's setting for the FP2. We managed the situation in a good way and thanks to that we made a big step ahead in the FP2 as we brought off an appropriate setting.
It has been my best qualifying up to now. We made a good work together with Santi, the suspension technician. The bike was responding so well and I felt really comfy during all the QP. This makes me very happy because at the beginning of the championship I wasn't able to qualify well and I managed this key aspect to improve it race by race.
I finished just 0.056s from the victory. I was an awesome race that I enjoyed a lot. It was a hard race as usually because we were in a big group of riders.
In the last lap when I was P6 I could overtake the five riders that were ahead in just one corner, where I used the breaks very hard and clean. In spite of that with few corners left Acosta overtook me and we made a push until the checkered flag so I couldn't get the win.
I want to thank everyone from the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup crew, my sponsors, my family and all those who support me race by race.
Happy with the result, along with my mechanic (Jesus Juan) and my mother (Monica).
This 2nd position goes for all of you!
See you soon this upcoming weekend at Aragon!
