I'm very happy to be writing to you!
The previous weeks have been great as I finally could start the FIM CEV Repsol with two races in Portugal, the first round at Estoril circuit and the second round at the Portimão circuit.
The first race in Estoril was amazing. I had very good feelings with my bike and my team. We were the fastest in the qualifying and I got the pole position, my first pole ever in the World Junior Championship on Moto3.
In the race I finished in P6. It was a very fought race where I was inside a big group of riders. We made a setting mistake so the race was a bit harder than expected and because of that I could not finish on the podium.
Despite this I left Estoril with a really good feeling and very happy because we get many conclusions taking into account that we have been eight months without competition, so it was great to get this result at the first round of the FIM CEV Repsol.
The following week we travelled to the south of Portugal heading toPortimão Circuit to participate in the second race of FIM CEV Repsol.
It was a new circuit for me. During the first days I was taking care of achieving the best bike setting. It was a bit hard but we improved step by step and day by day.
In the Qualifying I got a P5 and the next day I reached the P1 in the Warm Up. The feeling was really good and me and my bike were ready to fight for the victory.
We had a group of 6 leading the race, including me. We were overtaking each other lap by lap and after a very beautiful race the last lap was the key. I advanced to the fourth place, then I reached the third, then the fourth again and finally I crossed the checkered flag in third position.
It was my first podium at Moto3 class ever!
I'm very happy for the results at the Portuguese tour because at the beginning this two circuits weren't such favourable for me as wanted. So let's go!!
Next race will be at Austria within the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and I'm really excited to meet the team and my mates!
Many thanks for reading me,
See you soon!
