Blog | Darryn leading but out of luck

Hello All,

Round 3 and 4 at Jerez wasn’t my greatest weekend. Due to me braking my arm at the 1st Rookies test I lost out on a lot of track time especially in the dry. I took the 40 min of free practise and tried to get as much track time as I could and learn the track.

Qualifying practise went well putting me in P11 which I was happy with, I knew if I could get into the front bunch I could run with them.

Race 1 didn’t go the way I wanted it to, I got off to a really good start going into P6 but I had a big high-side, lucky I saved it but unfortunately I broke the fairing mounts on both sides so the fairing was dragging and shaking. I was dropping positions fast but managed to get my rhythm back and made it up to finish in P10.

Race 2 got off to a really good start, I managed to get into the front bunch, I led the race a few times and had a battle for the podium unfortunately with 5 laps to go sitting in 3rd my KTM  Moto 3 blew and that was my race over.

I can’t wait for Assen!

All the best to Olly, hope you are recovering well.
