How are you spending the summer?
I just came home from my last race in Aragon, but first I have to tell you how was the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup round in Sachsenring:
There in Germany, my father rented accommodation in a house of a nice old woman that only spoke German, so it was funny how we managed to communicate with her!
Sachsenring was another new track for me; it has many ups and downs and I liked it.
As I told you before, it's taking time for me to adapt to the KTM, so, in the free practices we were working with the suspension and changing some riding ways to keep improving.
Starting from P18 ,In the first race I got a 16th position. I didn't have good feeling with the rear tyre and couldn't ride faster.
In the second race I got a 14th position; I had better feeling and could end into the points.
So, I came back home for one day and then I went with my mother to the ETC round in Aragón:
It was very hot there but I had good feelings in the free practice sessions on Thursday and Friday and in the qualifying practices I got a P7.
Sunday dawned rainy; so we had the warmup on wet conditions. That was not good for me because in the first race the track got dry but the settings of the bike were still for a wet race. So, in the last minutes before the start we changed tires but had no time to change settings.
In the first lap I lost positions to P30 before I got used with the bike and adapted my riding, and step by step I could advance positions to end P17.
The second race was good. it was a dry race. I fought with the group and ended P4. First I was upset because in the last laps I was 3rd, but this is racing; sometimes you get the reward and others you don't.
Now I'll have two or three days of total relax with my family at home and then I will continue training and studying English and Japanese.
Next round will be at Spielbeg circuit in August with the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and I invite you to follow it at www.redbull.tv and https://rookiescup.redbull.com
