Blog | Carlos Tatay matching his fantastic weekend last year

Hi, to everyone again!!

Sorry for this little delay! The reason is that I was just focused on studying for my final exams at school.

Last weekend was the first round of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup in Jerez, one of my favourite tracks.

Thankfully, it was for me a really positive weekend, where I learned a lot fighting for the top positions and finishing the races in 2nd and 1st position.

Race 1: From the beginning, we all knew, because of the QP results, that it will probably be a race of 3/4 riders fighting for the victory. And it was finally like this.

After a really funny fight with other 2 riders, I arrived at the final lap in a good position, so I tried to fight for the victory, but in this race, Yuki was stronger than me, so I finally finished 2nd.

After the race, I was happy, but not at 100% and motivated for Sunday's race.

Race 2: The first laps were a copy from the first race, and from the 3rd lap till the end we were 3 riders again fighting for the victory. In the last lap, I was again in a good position and I tried my maximum again.

The difference was that in this race I was much more comfortable, and I could read the race for fighting for the highest part of the podium. Finally, I did it!

After this race I was finally as happy as I wanted to be after Race 1!!

I'm sorry for the incident in last lap, thankfully we are all OK.

After this race weekend were, I studied a lot, I only have thankfully words for all the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup Staff, and for my helper!! We will continue working, for coming stronger to Mugello's paradise track.

See you soon,
