Blog | Brad starting badly but racing well in Aragon

Hello everyone,

The weekend was not so bad for me.

FP1: Was not a good practice for me as I crashed 10 minutes into the session and couldn't go back out.

Q1: We only had 1 qualifier because a Moto3 blew up and put oil on the track so they had to clean it up. My wet setting was not very good I had no rear grip so we made some changes but still no grip so i ended up 17th on the grid and praying for a dry race.

Race 1: I got a bad start and dropped back to 19th on the first lap so i just had to build up my speed and keep chipping away at the rider in front of me and I ended up 4th, only a few 10ths of a podium.

Race 2: Got another bad start, just like Race 1 but this time I couldn't get past the riders like I did in Race 1 but still got a good finish, ended up 9th, this means I finished the year in 7th overall.

A big 'well done' to Florian for his Championship win he rode well all year.

I would just like to say a massive thank-you to all the mechanical staff and the catering staff for all their hard work over the year and another big thanks to Michaela,Peter,Gustl and Dani for giving me the opportunity to ride in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and really looking forward to riding in 2013 on the new 4-stroke KTM.

If it is possible I hope I can have Juan as my mechanic for next year I get on really well with him and he makes me feel relaxed.

Hope you all have a merry xmas and happy new year,
