Blog | Barry Baltus recovers during summer break

Hi everybody,

Since the last time we spoke, you certainly heard that I had fallen during free practice in Sachsenring. Because of the fall, I could not start the race. I had 2 subluxated ribs. It was important that I look after myself and rest a little bit. I suffered a lot and it was not easy but thanks to my coach, I was able to start exercises again slowly.

I didn't want to miss another race so I took part in the Moto3 Junior World Championship the following week in Aragon. It was 40 degrees and so it was very hard to ride in these conditions. I made P9 in qualifying and I took a very good start.

I finished 8th, not the place I expected but I couldn't follow the pace of the leaders. My mission was to finish the race in order to keep a good ranking in the championship standings. Despite this eighth place, I remain 2nd in the championship.

After a few days of rest, I resumed training. The weather is good in Belgium, which is rare, so I have the opportunity to do exercises in my garden. I'll be ready for my next race at Red Bull Ring with the Red Bull Rookies Cup. This time, I intend to finish on the podium!

See you this week at the Red BUll Ring!
