Blog | Barry Baltus eating some dust on dirt track

Hi everybody,

It's official: the holidays are over! As you've already read, I spent a sporty summer in Belgium and I keep going to be ready for the last races of the Rookies Cup season.

But first, I would like to do a quick resume of my two races in Austria, on the Red Bull Ring. It was my worst races for a long time. My lack of top speed never allowed me to be competitive. I finished on 16th and 12th position. That's what we can call a weekend to forget but now it's time to focus on Misano!

As a perfectionist, I continued to train hard. I participated in a track day on the Jules Tacheny circuit in Mettet with the Mertens Riding School. It is always a good experience to ride on circuit and here I was supervised by Stephane Mertens, former world endurance champion and vice-world champion in Superbike. I was very satisfied because I made a good lap in 1'06'333.

You would have probably noticed but I also love supermoto. That's why I did some dirt-track last week too. The owners of the dirt-track circuit asked me to test a new model of motorcycle they would like to buy.

So I had the opportunity to train with Fred Fiorentino, a supermoto specialist which I already mentioned in my blog, and some other people.

I had a lot of fun!

Then it was time to pack my bags and hit the road to Italy. I must admit that I couldn't wait to... eat pasta ;-)
See you soon with my thoughts on Misano !
