Already we made the start of the championship. Jerez has been the starting point and there was no better way to do it than to climb to the top of the podium in the first race on Saturday and confirm again in Sunday's race with a second place.
The weekend was perfect. I felt very comfortable riding my KTM.
During the two Free Practice sessions on Friday I put my motorcycle about to make some good workouts trying to get a good pace every lap, more important than a single fast lap. Still, I managed to put myself on the front row.
I am convinced that the two races held in Jerez have been beautiful and spectacular.
In Saturday's race I tried to dominate a few laps after the start. But it was practically impossible because every time I tried to escape from my pursuers and got ahead of them by a few tenths of a second, they used the slipstream against me and got back on my tail.
Seeing that I could not escape them, I decided to fight them at the last corner on the run in to the finish line and win the race.
We all knew that Sunday's race would be equal to the previous day. As much as I tried I could not get away from my rivals. I only had to wait for the last lap and implement a new strategy. But this time I could not win and was second under the checkered flag.
I am really happy with the results. Leaving Jerez tied with another rider in the lead of the Cup.
In particular, I loved the fight, clean and the rivalry I had with Sasaki on the track.
Greetings, my friends.
See you in Assen....
