Blog | Aleix Viu carrying his great form to Brno

Hi Everyone,

Brno is a difficult track, rather, its surface is such a bumpy track. A circuit that almost forces you to forget about all the "Bams" you have if you want to get to do a good time on their way through the lap.

In order to avoid as much as possible all this roughness, during the workouts I looked for different lines for maximum comfort of driving but it led me to have two falls in the day on Friday I was therefore not able to achieve more than the sixth fastest time in qualifying for the race.

I have to say I was lucky in the Qualy, since my fall was during the second lap and I could start my KTM to continue doing the qualifying training, putting myself in sixth position for the starting grid; that if, with a heavy burden on my mount since the fairing bottom was filled full of gravel.

Time came for Saturday's race and I was aware that the objective would be to put myself in the head of the race during the course of the first few laps. It was only "deal" for the best possible way in the race and try to take control of it.

It was difficult, since I had continuous overtaking with my rivals in the fight for the lead of the race. The end of it was a heart attack. A photo finish was needed to sort out who had crossed the line second.

Sunday's race was a little bitter. It was raining all day but stopped in the last quarter of the MotoGP race. The track had not finished drying completely, and our race was declared wet. Before wanting to fall to the ground, I wanted to settle down best in my saddle to find the necessary feeling to ride fast.

That feeling I found it too late, and left myself fighting to keep a seventh position in the second group. Truly the bike was perfect throughout the weekend, more than anything else did I not find the perfect complicity between my driving style, the layout of the wet track and the bumps that were in the way.

I would have liked to give you another podium, but it seemed Sunday was a bit complicated for me.

I have to say that still I enjoyed these races throughout the weekend and, why not ?, also throughout the whole season.

Greetings, my friends,

Viu Aleix
