This is my blog of the weekend in the Red Bull Ring. It was a very motivating experience for me since the circuit I loved, was very beautiful and clearly was our circuit. I was very concentrated and I liked that a lot.
The first free practice was in rain and was very slippery so I did not want to risk because the other practice sessions were dry and time was not worth anything. I got into a very good position but then it started to dry a little and the other riders were less conservative than me.
The free practice two was dry as I expected because with the sun and the wheels of all the other bikes the track was drying. Then it was time to use the throttle because then followed the qualifying where the grid positions would be decided for all. The top ten was the aim so that I could run with the group.
For the qualifying I started with great desire to give everything to be ahead but there was a very competitive group, still I could get the position eight very well and we were running the same pace as those in the front of the group.
The day of the first race came and I was very happy to be there. In the first laps there were multiple falls that made it easier to be even more ahead of where I expected to be fighting. I was battling for the podium with three Japanese and a German. The race was very busy with a lot of overtaking and at the end I was left with the position four. That is very good for the championship.
The second race was with serious accidents as in the first but a lot of overtaking in the first group. The second was mine but in the middle of the race I was able to catch the first group but I could not reach very good position there. But at the same time it was not such a bad position, I finally finished seventh.
I am very happy with the progress and looking forward to riding again in Misano.
See you in Italy!
