Today I will tell you my weekend at the Assen GP, a circuit that I like a lot but it is not easy to set up for the circuit. As soon as I arrived I made some changes on my bike to see if it was better.
In FP1 I tried the changes and the truth is I was much more comfortable with the bike and that made for a good lap time but not good enough.
In the FP2 after making some more changes in the front and rear suspensions we improved the time compared to the FP1 and then with some further changes I was ready to make a good QP.
In the QP I made many mistakes and I could not make a good enough time to qualify in the front rows but I could start from the middle of the grid.
So arrived the day of Race 1 and I was sure that I had the pace to be in the front group. But because I could not make a good start I couldn't run in the first group. I had to defend the first position of the second group and so I did so, crossed the finish line in 7th position some good points for the championship.
In Race 2 I concentrated on making a good start and placing myself in the first group. So I put myself in first positions almost the whole race and fighting with my teammates. Into the last lap I knew I could not start the last straight first.
Then I managed to work myself into a good position as we raced towards the finish line into the last section. I was third but unfortunately one of my teammates wanted to go where there was no gap and collected me and an another partner. So I couldn't finish and got no points.
Now it's time to prepare Germany and get stronger than ever.
See you in Germany,
