Victor lays it all out very simply: "Right from a young age I was interested in Motorsport from watching races on TV, cruising with my toy motorbike in the living room and sitting on my fathers classic Ducati. For my fourth birthday my present was a minimoto and I started to race on a remote controlled car circuit nearby and won several club races."
"The next step was the National Championship, because my older nephew was also racing minimoto, I learned a lot by chasing him and other faster riders and the tips from my father (be always smooth and fast) and I don't forget the full support of my family."
"Like many I want to become a MotoGP World Champion and of course a Red Bull Rookies Cup Champion, never stop dreaming and I am very fortunate to join the Rookies Cup."
He progressed through the smaller classes in Belgium and the Netherlands but 2015 saw a big step forward; "It was my first year racing on large circuits and big wheels, I loved the high speed and the new tracks, never giving up and showing initiative, making my own plan."
"My best race to that date was the last of 2015 at Brands Hatch with the 250 Junior Cup. It was my first time on that great circuit and with super spectators. I didn't take a long time to learn the track, the result was a win in the second race, pole and the fastest lap for the weekend."
Tips from Dutch coach Barry Veneman
"Another great race was Assen also in with the 250 Junior Cup, it was the first race on my home circuit, I loved using the many different lines and late braking. I came in second in the first race. After being forced into the gravel while overtaking in race two I managed to stay on the bike and regain second position, but finally missed the podium on top speed."
250 Junior Cup Assen in 2015
"I like fast long corners and hard breaking and sliding into corners, also I like hairpins and new tracks."
So not surprisingly he is confident about his first Rookies Cup season. "I need to finish every race and be in the top 10 or even close to podium."
At school he enjoys economy and mathematics and in his free time, "mountain biking and cycle racing, swimming and gaming, girlzzz!"
His racing heroes are Bayliss, Stoner and the Lowes brothers and he has a good philosophy about racing. "You always need a professional team, setting up the bike with the mechanics, me racing the bike to its limits and avoiding crashes, be smooth and fast, deliver max performance for the team/sponsor and make them smile."
Learning about suspension from Erwin Hangöbl - 2016
"2016 was my first season with the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. It was a tough year for me, with only nine points and one good qualifying, I never ended up in previous competitions outside the top ten."
Assen 2016 was a great ride to 8th in wet slippery conditions
"I had a new bike, new tracks, new impressions and new friends in a friendly yet professional environment. I learned quite a lot and was making good progress, although I was not training and racing with a Moto3 in another competition."
Mugello in the sun was more fun - 2016
"I was therefore delighted with another opportunity and trust for season 2017 from the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and I will not dissapoint. This year is really gonna be busy, with exams ánd racing, but always: like a rocket in 2017!"
