Blog | Walid Soppe working hard at the Red Bull Ring and Brno

Hello everyone,

Busy weeks in August. First we had the race in Austria, then Brno and last weekend Portimao for the Moto3 Junior World Championship.

The race in Austria was a special one, the atmosphere was absolutely great. All the things around were so well organised and I really enjoyed myself in Austria. The first race I had to start from the back due a penalty from Sachsenring. It was quite a good race and I was able to fight back to the points. For the second race we change some things but not in the right way so I couldn't ride the bike as I wanted.

Directly after the Red Bull Ring we went to Brno. We had some problems with the suspension and it was a difficult weekend. For the second race we made some changes and it went better. From ninth position on the grid I finished also ninth. Finally a top-10 again, my first one since Jerez.

All the races I show I have the speed and in the lap times I make a lot of progress compare to last year. When it all comes together I can do beautiful things but till now we had some bad luck. In Misano we try again and we keep pushing and working for a good result.

In Portimão we had to ride again for the Moto3 Junior World Championship. It was a long time ago since I rode with the Honda / Dutch Racing Team.

On the test day on Thursday there was a big crash due to oil spillage including 16 riders. Luckily enough I was not one of them.

On Friday we did some good work and step by step we went faster. The race was absolutely a big disappointment, already in the first corner someone touched my rear wheel and the race was already over. Anyway, head up to Misano!

Take care,
