Blog | Sean Kelly good in Jerez, better in Mugello

Hey everyone!

We are already on our way to Italy for the second weekend of the 2018 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup! Before that I wanted to tell you all about the first week of May in which we had the first race weekend in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain.

It was an overall great start to the season. I am currently 6th in the Championship, a big improvement from last year and a good base to start from for my 2018 season.

I finished race one in P8 and race two in P7, both races finishing first of the second group battle. The objective was to fight in the first group but my mistakes held me back.

Unfortunately in the qualifying I had made a lap time that would have situated me P6 on the grid, but I had gone off track so they canceled that lap and I had to start from back in the twelfth position. I know better for the future and I'm positive we will keep on improving session by session!

This year the Cup makes a return to Mugello and I can't wait to get going on the beautiful track that it is! It will be a new layout for me so I'm very excited to try it on my KTM!

Don't forget to watch the race on Saturday! I will update you all after the Mugello GP.

Thank you for everything RBRC, Pole Position Travel, and my family.
