The race weekend in Jerez was my very first experience with the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. I must say that I was a bit overwhelmed in the beginning.
Everything was new: the first time is this championship, the first time on this track and the first time that I had to ride in front of so many people :-)
It was hard work and for the first race weekend I'm quite happy with my results, I ended in 13th place the first race and 15th in the second & I took my first points in the championship.
It was an experience that I will never ever forget and I enjoyed every minute of it!
Now we're already some weeks further and I did not stand still during that period. I'm training a lot physically to become stronger and I'm also riding in the North European Moto3 Championship with Kiefer Racing.
Last weeks we had races on the tracks of Oschersleben and Donington Park. It was a good training although I had my first crash of the season :-( .
It wasn't a really big crash, just the timing was not so good, during the qualifying... Anyway, I learned a lot these weekends that I can use for the next race of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.
I'm also a big fan of my little brother Nyo, who competes in the minibike racing of the Italian championship CIV. The level is so high in the junior A class that they have to qualify to be able to participate on the races.
Last time at Mugello he was just 0,010s to slow but now in Franciacorta he could qualify and he did a good job on both races to. Go Nyo!!!
There was also some sad news in this period with the accident of Nicky Hayden. He came sometimes to Belgium to train with the kartbike at the karting Hasselt where I train to and on my last podium during the WSBK at Assen he was there to.
For the moment I'm studying a lot for school because I have exams in 2 weeks, which is important too!
See you all in Assen,
