Blog | Olly training hard at the Australian Institute of Sport

Hi All,

It has been 4 weeks since my season has finished for this year and I have still been very busy back in Australia. The past week I have been in Canberra at the Australian Institute of Sport, which is a complex full of training facilities for Australian athletes.

I had to fly to the capital of Australia Canberra from Adelaide, which was a one and a half hour flight. I got there on the Monday and the camp finished on the Friday. Over the week we did some tests to see how fit everyone was, lots of training sessions to help build our strength and we also did lots of lectures about food nutrition and how to train properly. We also had 2 sessions on dirt bikes practising our skills around a dirt track with Troy Bayliss and Jason Crump teaching us some new things, which was helpful, and we also went mountain biking, swimming and every morning at 6am we would be out exercising. The camp was really good fun and I learnt a lot. I am going to come back very strong for next years season.

Another good thing that happened was that I had surgery to have my rod removed from my arm. So now I will be 100 percent fit and ready to start testing for next season at Aragon.

See you at the races Olly#45
