Olly fighting for the podium from the front row in Mugello

G'day everyone,

The second round of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup at Mugello, Italy was a very good weekend for me.

It started off on Friday with two free practices and one qualifying session. The first free practice I spent the whole session learning the Mugello circuit and ended up with the 4th quickest time, which was a good way to start the weekend. Next I had the second free practice session and it had rained before it so the track was wet but I liked the wet conditions so it was good I finished the session with the 5th fastest time. Then we had the qualifying session which was also wet. I spent most of the session building up and worked my way into it and then close to the end I set a fast lap and qualified 3rd on the grid, which I was very happy about.

Saturday, race day, was also very good for me. Starting from the front row of the grid in 3rd place I made a good start and was in second place going around the first corner. Then during the race I was in the front bunch fighting for second place and then two riders got a little gap. After trying to close the gap the race was over and I finished in 4th position, which is my best race result so far in the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.

Now I am looking forward to the next round in Assen where I want to do even better.

See you at the races,
