G’day everyone,

The last round of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup for this year I finally got to race after missing the last 3 rounds waiting for my wrist to heal.

The first free practice I spent getting my mind up to speed, getting the feel for the bike and learning the Aragon circuit. I finished the practice in 15th position, which I was happy about because I hadn’t ridden a bike for a while.

Second free practice was also good I got some good advice from the rider coaches to help me improve my lap time. I also focused on getting my bike setup and I finished the session in 14th position.

Qualifying was very close I finished in 13th position, less than 1 second off of pole position.

Race 1 didn’t go according to plan because I made it to the first corner and had a technical fault with the bike so I didn’t get to finish the race. Race 2 was a lot better than race 1. I made a good start and gained positions into the first corner but on the first lap I ran off the track and went from 9th to 18th position. So over the race I had to battle with the riders that passed me and in the end I finished in 11th position.

After the weekend we had our selections for next year and I am very happy to be invited into the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies cup for 2014. Thank you to all of the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup, KTM, WP suspension, Alpinestars, Ipone and Dunlop staff and all of my Rookie team mates for the awesome year. I can’t wait until next year!

See you at the races Olly #45
